At City Rental Services, (hyperlink with http://www.city-rental-services.co.uk/) we start the day with a cuppa, and a review of what’s been going on overnight – recently, it was usually something from the Olympics, or it might be a big news story, or possibly it’s a visit from one of our Letting-Only landlords to advise us of a flat or house to let, if they’ve received notice from their current tenant.
The lettings team will then get to work on the marketing of the flat or house to let in Bristol, while the admin team will be dealing with the paperwork for tenancies already being processed – as well as keeping our landlords and tenants advised of progress.
Boards have to be erected, the various web sites that we use have to be updated, including www.rightmove.co.uk and our own website, plus if it’s a student property in Bristol, it might also go on www.studylets.co.uk.
This all happens after the price has been discussed. If we haven’t seen the property, a visit is made to take a new set of photos and give the rented flat in Bristol the once over to make sure it is of a decent standard.
While all this is going on, our MD Sue Powell will be checking emails and having a morning meeting with her business partner in one of the great cafes of Gloucester Road, such as Bubalu, Ronak and Tart.
During the course of the day, many visitors call at our office, including landlords, tenants, contractors, friends, and our IT support company BRISTOL IT. It’s always a busy place.
For example, today we had a visit from a young chap about to start a degree at one of the new colleges springing up in Bristol. His first experiences with letting agencies in Bristol had not been easy, and so we did our best to help him.
Tomorrow is another day, and with more challenges to meet, no doubt!
